Freedom Transit Seeks Input on Proposed Fixed Route Fare Changes

Freedom Transit is proposing a fare restructure for its fixed route bus service. Freedom Transit has not adjusted its fares since 2012 and is requesting public comment on the proposed fare restructure. The public can learn about the proposed changes and offer feedback at one of the following Open House Meetings and Public Comment Sessions:

• Tuesday, April 23, 12:00 PM-7:00 PM, Freedom Transit, 50 E. Chestnut St., Washington, PA
• Tuesday, April 30, 12:00 PM-2:00 PM, Heritage Public Library, 52 Fourth St., McDonald, PA
• Tuesday, April 30, 3:30-5:30 PM, Frank Sarris Public Library, 35 N. Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg, PA
• Wednesday, May 1, 12:00 PM-7:00 PM, Freedom Transit, 50 E. Chestnut St., Washington, PA

Proposed fare changes include:

• Reducing the number of fare categories from four (4) to two (2)
• Establishing a fare of $2.00 for all fixed route travel in Washington County
• Establishing a fare of $4.00 for all fixed route travel to/from Allegheny County

All interested parties are invited to attend the meetings and provide comments on the proposed changes. Comments will also be accepted in writing through May 1, 2024, to Freedom Transit Fixed Route Fare Adjustments, 50 E.
